There are far too many people to mention in person - this blog piece might never end if I tried!
For me caring is truly all about people and relationships - it’s always people who make the biggest difference of all. I have met so many amazing people and witnessed the greatest relationships of care over the last year. that have been made , the stories I have heard and the great initiatives so many people have shared.
As we get ever closer to the start of 2015 will you join us and make a personal pledge to make a difference
You can view information below on how to add your personal pledge
“Carers tell us that a little bit of time, listening and understanding can make an unimaginable difference during what can be a very difficult and lonely journey. No matter what your role, you have the potential to transform the lives and experiences of people with dementia and their carers.” Tommy
Make a pledge – Make a difference
How will you make a difference?
We aim to ensure that carers have their voices heard, their rights and caring role are recognised by those who play a part in the journey and that real life experience influences health and social care policy, culture and practice. Having heard the stories of Tommy and other carers we want to ask those working in Health and Social Care services:
What one thing will you take away and change in order to make a difference to the lives of people with dementia and their carers?
You can send your pledge to us via email to email@example.com. We will be collating the pledges and publishing them on the home page of this website so please be sure to let us know your name and role. If, however you prefer for your pledge to remain anonymous, please indicate this in your response.
Here are some pledges that we have already received:
“I pledge to listen with open ears and and open heart.”
“I pledge to view the person I care for as all that they have been, they are and all that they can be.”
“I pledge to take the time to speak to the person’s family and provide support to make their lives as fulfilling as possible.”
We would like to thank organizations from across the sector showing their support for the campaign, and helping to spread the message that “You Can Make A Difference.”
